THE PLAY OF THE WEEK

I want to tell you about something that happened to me years ago at a coaching conference.

The speaker asked us to write down the three biggest moments in our professional lives. When I looked at my answers, I realized something powerful – none of those breakthrough moments happened in my office in Toronto. They all happened on the road, in different environments.

This isn’t coincidence. We can only grow to the level of the environment we’re in. Your environment either moves you closer to where you want to go or farther away from it.

There are nine different environments that shape your success: your core beliefs, your body, your skills, your relationships, your network, your finances, and even nature itself.

When you intentionally design these environments instead of letting them happen by accident, everything changes.

GET ON THE ICE

Here are six questions to transform your environments:

  1. What do you want your financial, health, and business life to look like in 18 months? Get specific about your vision for each area.
  2. What’s one belief you have about your current results that just might not be true? Challenge the assumptions that might be holding you back.
  3. What belief do you want to rewrite today? Create a new, empowering belief for each area of your life.
  4. Find proof for your new beliefs. Research people who have already achieved what you want and study their approach.
  5. What can you do today to uplevel your network? The people you spend time with determine your results more than you realize.
  6. What’s one small thing you could do today to change your physical environment? Even moving your next meeting to a different location can spark new thinking.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“You are a product of your environment. So choose the environment that will best develop you toward your objective.”
