Business Coach & Speaker

About Shawn Shepheard

He is the coach who will not make you feel stupid.

Shawn Shepheard has spent 26 years working with family business owners across North America. Not as a consultant with a clipboard. As a coach who gets on stage, gets in the trenches, and stays until things actually change.

His clients are not looking for another framework. They want someone who gets their world. Someone they can have a beer with. Someone who will tell them the truth.

The best compliment Shawn ever received came from a client’s wife at dinner. She looked at him and said: he loves you for the business results. I love you because I got my husband back. He is home when he is home now. He does not miss the kids events anymore.

That is the work.

He does not just coach business. He has built one.

Before Shawn became one of the most trusted coaches in the family business space, he built something of his own.

When he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 30, he was taking six insulin injections a day. Someone with Type 1 diabetes makes at least 500 more decisions per day than someone without it. Rather than letting that define him, Shawn used it to change the narrative around the disease entirely.

He wrote a book called Life is Sweet. He produced and hosted the Sugar Free Shawn Show, which became the number one Type 1 diabetes online show in the world. He built an audience, secured sponsorships from Johnson and Johnson entirely on his own terms, and had Seasons One and Two of his show distributed on DVD to diabetes clinics across Canada. He would travel to clinics and find his own show playing on loop in the waiting rooms.

Along the way he appeared on Success TV in New York City alongside Stephen Covey, Richard Branson, and Marshall Goldsmith. He was the opening act for Marshall Goldsmith at a 6am breakfast event in New York City. He knows what it takes to start something from nothing, build an audience around it, and make it work.

That chapter of his life is the reason his clients trust him with theirs.
